A new study, affiliated with the larger SAFE SORRY project on overprotective parenting, is officially underway. This study, called POPAY (Parental Overprotection and Psychopathology in Adolescents and Youth), specifically concerns adolescents, young adults, and their parents from both clinical and non-clinical populations and endeavors to understand why parents engage in overprotective parenting as well as the impact on adolescents and youth. Participants were contacted from collaborating hospitals, schools, and universities in the French-speaking parts of Belgium.
