Official launch of our first study

SAFESORRY is a research project funded by the European Research Council that seeks to understand parenting in a changing social world.

With a diverse team of researchers, we aim to better comprehend how the societal, cultural, economic and historical context shapes the way parents educate their children. On this website, you can read a summary of some of our main results and download publications, or you can subscribe for our newsletter if you wish to remain informed. The first study of the SAFE-SORRY project is officially underway! The SAFE-SORRY team has begun the first wave of recruitment across several schools in Belgium. This study seeks to involve parents of adolescents enrolled in the fifth and sixth forms of secondary school. Taking into account various contextual variables, such as the increased pressure towards contemporary parents, we aim to understand why parents engage in overprotective parenting in today’s demanding social world.
