SAFESORRY is a research project funded by the European Research Council that seeks to understand parenting in a changing social world.
With a diverse team of researchers, we aim to better comprehend how the societal, cultural, economic and historical context shapes the way parents educate their children. The Dutch-speaking Brussels newspaper Bruzz recently published an article about the experience of pregnant women in Brussels restaurants. In this context, Stijn Van Petegem, member of the SAFE-SORRY team, was interviewed to provide a psychological perspective on the high social expectations surrounding parenthood today and the pressure that can be placed on future parents.
