There is a new SAFE-SORRY paper out – this time, written in Croatian! Ana Tokić Milaković published a paper presenting the results of the Croatian data gathering, analyzing how parents’ perceptions of the socio-economic environment is associated with overprotective parenting in adolescence. She shows how parents’ perceptions of job insecurity and competitiveness within society contribute significantly in the prediction of overprotective parenting – illustrating how it is essential to also consider broader socioeconomic factors for understanding parenting.
