The Nieuwsblad, a Flemish newspaper, recently published an article titled “Wie niet horen wil, moet voelen is het motto”: FAFO opvoeding maakt opgang, maar wat is dat precies? (“Those who do not want to listen must feel the consequences”: FAFO parenting is becoming more popular, but what is it exactly?), which discusses new parenting trends and debates around parenting.
In this context, Stijn Van Petegem, a member of the SAFE-SORRY team, provided a psychological perspective on these parenting practices and highlighted the importance of maintaining positive parental involvement, while allowing children the space to learn from their experiences.
